The gates fall into 2nd safety class under ОПБ, group В under NPU Rules.
According to the designation and performed functions under ОПБ the gate valves may be used as elements of normal operation systems - Н, Protective systems - З, and support systems - О.
The gates operate in normal mode at medium speed in the pipeline up to 5 m/s during 1,000 hours within the service life. For valves of systems САОЗ and САОР in emergency mode short-time increase of medium speed up to 25 m/s during 10 hours a year is allowed. Medium feed direction is in accordance with the arrow on the body. The gates are closed at stoppage of the medium movement and opened at pressure drop on the shutoff element not more than 0.03 MPa. The valves design provides for hermeticity with regard to the ambient medium.
Swing check gates are designed to be installed on pipelines of nuclear power plants (NPP) with water-cooled power reactors (WCPR) or channel-type high-power reactors with the purpose of operating medium return flow prevention.
The gates are connected to pipelines through welding. On horizontal pipelines the gates are mounted with incline not more than 0.04, so that the clack axle was parallel to the horizontal plane and above the pipeline axle. On vertical pipelines the gates are mounted with the inlet fitting downward.
